The New York House in Sharon Springs

Located in the quaint village of Sharon Spring, The New York House is a luxurious B&B that will immediately feel like home – or the home you wish you had.  Sharon Springs was a bustling society watering hole in the mid-19th century and the playground of Vanderbilts, Roosevelts and Rockefellers. The New York
House is a Bed & Breakfast in a former boarding house built in 1885. Today Sharon Springs is a step back into a quieter time with trendy shops. Some may know Sharon Springs as the home of the Fabulous Beekman Boys. And, yes, their store Beekman 1802 is just down the street from the New York House.

Everything at The New York House from the front porch with
rocking chairs to the posh living room to the trendy dining room is done with style and panche. The bedrooms are fully air conditioned with queen beds and plush mattresses, high-count sheets, and amenities.  The internet is free. Suites are available.  Breakfast is a sumptuous affair with wonderful homemade scones.

The New York House is a great location for exploring Schoharie County and visiting Cooperstown.  Schoharie County is a wonderful step into the past – the way life used to be. Don’t miss Howe Caverns. It is truly an underground wonder. The Iroquois Indian Museum is just down the road form Howe Caverns. Visit the nearby Blenheim-Gilboa Power Project
Visitor Center and the beautifully restored and furnished Lansing Manor adjacent to the Visitor Center. Schoharie County with gentle rolling hills have historic home such as the amazing Dr. Best house in nearby Middleburgh. The Stone Fort Complex in Schoharie is another do-not-miss. It is home to a museum, law office, one-room school and other items dealing with the early days of the area.
